Deerwood Arboretum in Brentwood Tennessee

Deerwood entrance road It's a 27 acre park located on the west side of Brentwood.

In 1975, the City of Brentwood purchased farm land to build a waste water treatment plant. The city grew quickly, and the plant was quickly replaced.

In 1987 the treatment pits were filled and the land was developed into a nature park. 15 of the 27 acres are in flood plain, and the little harpeth river borders the park for 1/2 mile.

The park officially open in 1992 and was named for the the street that accesses it. Deerwood received accreditation as a certified arboretum in 1992. At that time it contained over seventy varieties of native trees. entrancetidbitsdeerwood bridge2 deerwood bike trail2 deerwood lake2 deerwood view of river2 DSC_9290 deerwood little harpeth river view deerwood bike trail
