Commission OKs Town Center changes, 100 homes near Split Log Road - Brentwood Home Page

Commission OKs Town Center changes, 100 homes near Split Log Road - Brentwood Home Page

Brentwood City Commissioners passed an ordinance Monday night that
reverts a number of regulations in the city's Town Center district to
tighter, stricter building restrictions, but decided to address a
residential ban in the area in February.

The Board also chose to forego an exemption on a proposed five-story hotel affected by the new regulations. As a result, the project no longer is in compliance with the city's ordinance, and is effectively abandoned.

Commissioners also approved, 4-3, a motion to direct city staff to explore a possible ban of all residential use in the Town Center area. City staff will draft possible options in the coming weeks for City Commissioners to consider.

Two new developments, which will bring over 100 homes to the area off Split Log and Ragsdale roads, were also approved Monday night.

Commissioners decided to add an amendment that would place removable
roadblocks on a connection between Glenn Abbey and Northumberland
subdivisions.
